About us

Leo is a founder, lead engineer and board member of Energex. He is a certified thermal engineer and a certified energy efficiency specialist.

Leo holds a Master’s degree in Thermal Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Tallinn University of Technology, where he gained knowledge in heat and power generation, district heating, industrial heat-related processes, mechanics, chemistry, IT, finance and management. He has previously worked for 7 years at Eesti Energia in the power generation development department, in the renewable energy and small-scale co-generation unit and in the technology development service as an analyst, project manager and development manager.

In addition to his work, Leo is involved in the development of thermal and mass balance models for power plants and the preparation of research articles based on these models in connection with his PhD studies at Tallinn University of Technology. He is also a member of the council of the Estonian Society of Thermal Engineers and a member of the board of the Estonian Engineers’ Association, where he is mainly involved in ensuring the future of engineers and promoting engineering.

Viljar has been working at Energex since the company’s founding and took over the company’s management in 2021, known for his team motivation and collaboration skills. In recent years, he has taken the opportunity to travel while working remotely and has visited at least 25 new countries in both Europe and Asia.

With a master’s degree in thermal engineering from Tallinn University of Technology, Viljar has a strong background in the field of thermal engineering. His skills and knowledge have significantly contributed to his career and personal development. He holds a certified thermal engineer qualification.

In his free time, Viljar enjoys traveling, collecting Pokémon cards, and football jerseys, reflecting his versatility and creativity.

Enar works as a Development Manager and Lead Engineer at Energex, where he is responsible for leading the development of the company’s services and the implementation of development projects. Enar is known for his ability to think strategically and solve complex technical problems.

Enar holds a Master of Engineering in Thermal Engineering from Tallinn University of Technology and is a qualified thermal engineer (level 8). His academic background includes a deep knowledge of thermodynamics and energy technology.

Outside of work, Enar likes to rack his brains playing board games. To balance out the mental workload of office work, Enar relaxes at the gym, hiking in the mountains and cross-country skiing.

Andre has been working as a development manager and thermal engineer at Energex almost since the founding of the company, where he manages the implementation of various development projects and the development of the company’s services.

Andre holds a Master’s degree in Thermal Engineering from Tallinn University of Technology, where he gained knowledge in heat and power generation, district heating, industrial heat processes, mechanics and chemistry. He is a qualified thermal engineer.

In addition to his work, Andre is pursuing further education in computer science at the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands. His hobbies include running, road cycling and travelling.

Johanna joined the Energex team in the spring of 2024 and works as an executive assistant. Her responsibilities at Energex include assisting the management in various matters, recruitment, HR tasks, organizing team events, and much more.

Johanna has always been fascinated by the functioning of society and the state, which led her to study at Tallinn University of Technology, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in public administration and political science. She has work experience in both the private and public sectors and has previously been involved in sales and HR. Based on her previous experiences, Johanna has gained an understanding of the characteristics of both sectors and is familiar with their positive aspects and challenges.

To keep her mind fresh, Johanna spends her free time exploring hiking trails in nature, working out, and enjoying traveling and discovering different cultures and places.

Robert has worked in various fields at Energex over the past five years: managing digitalization and automation projects, developing resource-saving projects, and conducting complex industrial equipment procurements. With an in-depth knowledge of Energex’s services, transitioning to sales in 2023 was a natural step for Robert, aimed at creating an even stronger connection between Estonian industrial companies and Energex, helping these companies realize their growth plans.

Robert holds a master’s degree in Applied Chemistry and Biotechnology from Tallinn University of Technology, and he has a strong background in chemical process engineering and chemical technology. Throughout his career, Robert has gained extensive additional knowledge in energy technology, compressed air technology, and industrial mechanics.

In his free time, Robert enjoys hiking on nature trails, traveling, and analyzing and investing in technology companies listed on the US stock market. As a music enthusiast, Robert enjoys combining his love for music with sports such as powerlifting, cycling, or running. During some summers, Robert also finds extra enthusiasm in brewing beverages from local fruits.

Tanel started working at Energex in 2019, primarily managing projects in the street lighting sector. To continually develop and challenge himself, he began his role as Energex’s Sales Manager in 2021. His responsibilities include leading, training, and motivating the sales team, as well as engaging in active sales work. His main goal is to help find the best possible solutions for clients and demonstrate that sales can be a positive experience for all parties, with solutions always available for any problem.

Tanel holds a master’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering from Tallinn University of Technology. To ensure purposeful and high-quality sales, he has completed sales training courses and continuously develops his sales skills on a daily basis.

To effectively contribute to clients’ well-being, he highly values investing in himself and maintaining a balance between work and personal life. Tanel can often be found hiking, running, sailing, or seeking adrenaline on a snowboard in the mountains or wakeboard in the waves. Additionally, he finds stress relief in car detailing, which is why he is often seen driving a shiny car. Balance is the key to strength!

Mihkel joined the Energex team in the summer of 2019 and works in the digital team, where he helps to raise the level of digitalization and automation in Estonian industry and implement modern technologies on a daily basis. His contributions help companies become more efficient and competitive.

Mihkel graduated with a master’s degree in product development and production engineering, which has provided him with a strong foundation for a career in the technical and manufacturing fields. His education and experience have made him a specialist in his field, capable of offering innovative solutions and strategies.

In his free time, Mihkel can be found in the padel court, enjoying the sport and honing his skills. Traveling is also a great passion of his, allowing him to discover new places and cultures around the world.

Rasmus has been working at Energex since the fall of 2022 as a project manager for digitalization and automation.

Rasmus earned a bachelor’s degree in product development and production engineering from Tallinn University of Technology. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in industrial engineering and management at Tallinn University of Technology, which supports his daily tasks in the fields of digitalization and automation.

Even in his free time, Rasmus cannot escape management, as he officiates football games, sails a yacht in the summer, and ice sails in the winter.

Raina joined the Energex digital team in November 2022, seeking new challenges. She heard about Energex from her good friend Andre.

Raina began her university studies at Tallinn University of Technology in bridge construction, but after a year, she realized it was not the right field for her. She then set her sights on the field of wood, plastic, and textile technology at the same university and earned a master’s degree in wood technology. Incidentally, there is another alumna of the same program in the digital team—Jaana, who is Raina’s coursemate!

Before joining Energex, Raina applied her acquired knowledge for three years as a technologist in the furniture industry, where she contributed to various interior design projects for European hotels and assisted in the company’s digitalization efforts to a small extent.

In her free time, Raina is interested in Japanese and South Korean culture, enjoying their films, series, and music. Recently, she had the opportunity to visit one of these countries. Additionally, Raina has completed a basic course in makeup artistry and is a big fan of skincare.

Jaana joined the Energex team in 2023. She heard about the open position for a production technology engineer from her former coursemate Raina, who is a member of the Energex digital team. Since their collaboration during university was smooth and their knowledge complemented each other, they both thought it made sense to continue working together professionally.

Jaana has always been fascinated by textile materials and the questions they raise. Therefore, it was a logical step for her to enroll in the wood, plastic, and textile technology program at Tallinn University of Technology, where she earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree, specializing in textile technology. During her studies, she gained comprehensive knowledge of both future materials and innovative production technologies. Jaana previously worked for five years at one of Estonia’s most modern garment manufacturing companies, gaining experience with the challenges of the textile industry in sustainable production and digitalization and automation. She has also contributed to local fashion brands through various educational internships.

Outside of work, Jaana is involved in developing and sewing clothing patterns and knitting. To bring balance to her life, she spends as much time as possible in nature and dreams of having her own garden with a greenhouse.
